Arts and Crafts Application

PBDC administers an Arts & Crafts (A&C) grant fund to assist in the maintenance and traditional handicrafts, skills, and activities on the Opaskwayak Cree Nation.
The A&C funds are available to OCN Members for purposes of purchasing supplies needed to manufacture arts, crafts, and clothing traditional to OCN’s culture and historical background.

All Arts & Crafts funding is restricted to projects located on OCN.

Equipment Purchases are not eligible under the Arts & Crafts Grants Program.

All applications will be considered based on:
a) Completed application form;
b) Copies of quotes from suppliers (including complete listing of supplies, costs, and applicable taxes);
c) Names, addresses, and telephone numbers of suppliers;
d) Any special considerations.

The maximum amount allowable per application, regardless of total costs, is $500.00 (five-hundred
dollars.)

Arts & Crafts Grants are awarded in two-year cycles. Successful applicants will not be considered for further funding until after two years.

Please be advised that A&C Grant funds are limited to the annual budget and once expended there will be no further grants awarded.

PBDC Economic Development staff will assist OCN Member clients in determining eligibility and completing application forms.

All applications are reviewed by the Board of Directors and decisions are based on the completed application form, skills & qualifications of the applicant and verification of intended use of funds and finished product. Al applications are to be submitted to the Economic Development staff two weeks prior to the monthly Board of Directors meeting. Upon receiving a completed application, the Board of Directors will decide to approve, reject, or defer the application. Applications that have been approved will receive a disbursement of funds within a maximum of two weeks.
